We're all big babies at one point in our lives. Quite literally. How do we deal? Well, if we KNOW for a fact that 1) we wont die 2) we wont get seriously injured and 3) it could possibly be the best thing to ever happen to us, than I say just go for it. Whats there to lose anyway? Really, its just about getting over our fear of the unknown. How could you be afraid of something that you haven't tried? Well, granted if someone were to tell you jumping off a cliff into shark infested waters was fun and exciting, well by all means be scared. But we're talking about something as simple as....lets just say going on a huge rollercoaster for the first time. From the parking lot it doesnt seem so huge. You think to yourself, "this is what I was afraid of?" As your walking up the stairs, all 400,000 of them, slowly butterflies fill up in your stomach. Turning around and walking back down the stairs is definately in your mind. But you keep on. You dont want to seem like a wuss in front of your friends. You finally see the front of the line. People are breaking up and deciding whether sitting in the front or back will give them any better expierence of the ride (Little hint, it doesnt). You choose to sit in the middle. Your not first down the giant hill that awaits you, but your not last either. The man next to the controls who looks like he would rather be drowning than doing what he is now, gets the go and starts the ride. No turning back now. Your stomach feels as if it will fall out of your butt. You feel yourself breathing harder. The people you were once side by side with are getting smaller and smaller. From the height your at now you can spot your car in the parking lot. You just realized you left your head lights on. Crap. The clicking of the rollercoaster gets louder and louder. You know your reaching the top. You see a 12 year old girl who doesnt even look worried. You say to yourself "if she can do it, than i must be able to." People in the front cart start raising up their arms. Slowly you decend downhill. At this moment you wish you would have turned around when you had the chance. But wait..is that a smile forming? Are you...laughing? The sharp turns squish you into the person sitting next to you. But, you dont care, your having the time of your life. You see a flash in the far right corner. Of course, its those embarassing photos they take of people and try to get you to buy later. 1 wallet photo for $12? Yeah right! As fast as it started, the ride comes to a hault. Your sanity slowly comes back. Your face fills with color again. You stand up and see the next batch of people waiting to take your seat. The girl about to take your place, looks like you did 2 minutes ago. Scared, unsure, and nauseous. Right before she steps into the cart, she looks behind her, at the stairs. Will she bail or stay? When she turns back around, you give her a quick smile and say "just go for it!" She looks at you. Your a stranger to her. By now, everyone has gotten out of their carts and the man next to the controls gives you a death stare. You get up. As your walking down the steps, you see that same girl you were just talking to take a deep breath and get in the cart.
just go for it.-Phillie(:
